Some Benefits of Guided Meditation

Most people innately know they should meditate yet they come up with plenty of excuses for not doing it: I don’t know how. I don’t have the time. I cannot stop my mind so why bother. Meditation has become popular and we all have access to different meditation techniques. From guided meditation to energy meditation to yoga, there are many choices out there. I practice and teach Shaktipat meditation, a simple third eye technique in which you connect energetically with the life force that created and sustains your existence.

Practicing Shaktipat meditation (or other powerful meditation techniques) is a wonderful (and in my opinion necessary) ingredient to living a happy, spiritually-connected, joyful life. My belief is that we all have a pure, enlightened soul and that by purifying our bodies (through clean eating and exercise) and our minds (through meditation) we allow the light and love of our souls to shine through. As a result we naturally live a life full of love and happiness, health and prosperity. Isn’t this the life you were born to live?

You can have it all. You can experience wealth in all areas of your life – physically, mentally, financially, in your family life and of course spiritually. You can experience the nature of your true spirit. You can truly know who you are and why you were born. You can do the normal ‘stuff’ that we humans do (go to work, pay the bills, do the laundry, cook the meals) and simultaneously live in a state of utter bliss. You can know your Self.

If you are new to meditation, perhaps you will be inspired to begin meditating and begin to experience the bliss that is your true nature.

How To Meditate

Many people tell me they know there are great benefits to meditation, yet they don’t know how to meditate. It is common for people to struggle with slowing down their minds. So when asked “how do I meditate?” my response is:

The only thing needed is the desire to connect with one’s Self and an openness to receive.  Simply sit comfortably with your spine straight.  Close your eyes and breathe in deeply.  Feel the presence in and around you.  Roll your eyes slightly up in your head and gaze into the point between your eyebrows (the third eye).   Now just stay focused on the feeling between your eyebrows.  By focusing on the feeling, the feeling naturally builds.  At first you will feel more calm and peace.  As the feeling increases, it is normal to feel joy and bliss.

Honestly, while it is easy to explain how to meditate, it is hard to put the feeling that occurs into words.  The best advice is to try it.  For most people, it is easier to meditate via a guided meditation from an experienced teacher.

The bottom line is that consistent meditation leads to a healthier mind and body.  My belief is that we all have a soul that is pure and enlightened.  Meditation is the ultimate tool to help purify the mind and the body to allow the light and love of your soul to shine through.  If you are looking for increased health, energy, connection, peace and love in your life, Shaktipat meditation is wonderful solution.
